Anyway first, you need to escort a traitor to him down to Moonbrook so that he can show you the defias hideout. Speak to the shady character standing a few steps from Gryan Stoutmantle. He says:

So Stoutmantle sends a scrawny person like you to protect me? Guess you?ll have to do. Better bring some friends too.

You know the deal, right? You watch my back and I?ll take you to the Defias hideout. But you better be close by my side. The Defias gang wants my head now. If they see me with you, they?ll try to kill me.

Protect him through Moonbrook

As you might have guessed, you will fail your quest if this guy dies, so keep a close eye on him. This quest can be soloed by most characters at level 20, but if you?re lower than this, you might want to bring a friend or two. The trip to Moonbrook is pretty easy, and there are no ambushes or similar nasty surprises. The only threat is the occasional Defias Looter (level 13-14) or Defias Pillager (level 14-15) that might be drawn to you on your way through their territory. Once you get to Moonbrook, follow the traitor to the old barn where you will receive a ?quest complete? message. Now return to Gryan Stoutmantle with the new information and he will say:

Most excellent! VanCleef is as good as ours now that we know where he is hiding.
